Charlottesville is rewriting its zoning code and to make sure this new zoning code is ready to meet the ambitious goals of the comprehensive plan on day one, we need your help. We'd like Charlottesville's design and development community to test this code, even try to break it. Let's find the successes and the flaws, and compile what we learn for the city to incorporate into the new code.

The code is to be issued in 3 draft sections before adoption in June. The first module contains all the regulations pertaining to the proposed new zoning districts and zoning map. This module can be found on the Cville Plans Together Website. We'd like to assign as many zoning districts and development types to those willing to help with this effort. Comments for this first module need to go back to the City by March 31. We propose an open house sometime in the end of March, after module 2 has been released, for each firm, architect, or developer to present their findings. More information on that will be coming once we know how many people or firms are interested.
